Today’s reading Judges 1-3

Judges 2:1 And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.

God made promises to Israel. They started with what He promised Abraham, then Isaac, then Jacob, and then continued to all the nation of Israel. He repeated His promises. This verse says something very clear. He will never break His covenant with them.

We thank God for that because He, too, made a covenant with us! He promised us salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ! We are secure in our salvation because we know that He will NEVER break His covenant with us!

Now today many would question why Israel is so front and center in the news. They would wonder why many of us believe that America should side with Israel. Here is the reason. God made them promises and He will keep His promises.

We know that God will restore Israel to her land and all that was promised her. We know that Israel was given great promises that will be fulfilled.

Just because He made a promise to a different people thousands of years ago doesn’t change anything. He is a God that does what He says He will do.

We rest in the fact that He does keep His Word. It is good for them but it is good for us as well.
