Today’s reading Job 19-21
Job 21:15 What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? And what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
Job is having a hard time in his life. He is thinking of how the lost, unsaved people think. He knows that they question whether there is any value in serving God. They don’t see that it does any good to pray and seek God’s face.
As I read this I think of how often even those that are born again seem to develop this attitude. We want God to prosper us. We think that He is not prospering us and is not taking care of us. We question the value of serving God. That should never happen.
Do not fall into the trap of judging God’s love for you based on problems that you face. God is good to us, all the time, no matter the circumstances. Nothing is happening that is not for our best and His glory.
There is value in serving Him. He does hear and answer prayer. God is good. I challenge you to throw out these thoughts that are foreign to you as a believer. Trust God. Love Him even in the middle of hard times and what appears to be tragedy. He is worthy.
