Today’s reading Leviticus 18-20

Leviticus 19:10 And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God.

God taught His people to make provision for the poor! They were to have them in mind even when they harvested their crops. They were to take care of the strangers, foreigners, or travelers through their country.

I am always amazed at how God made provision. He was concerned that His people knew how to treat others that were less fortunate than themselves.

When they harvested their fields they were to always leave some for the needy!

They were to never hold the wages of the laborer.

They were never to decide what was right or wrong or make a decision based on the social standing of a person!

The grace of God is a great leveler! It takes down the big and lifts up the needy! The ground is level at the foot of the cross. God doesn’t save or work in our lives based on how much or how little we have!

God’s people are to be concerned about others and it should affect our daily lives!
