Today’s Bible Reading Genesis 26-27:40

Genesis 26:8 And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife.

Isaac loved his wife. He was seen sporting with her here in this verse. That means caressing her or treating her like a wife and definitely not like a sister.

I get the challenge from this verse to work at loving my wife. A good marriage is not an accident. It takes work just like any relationship.

Some complain about their marriage and that their partner is not what they expected. The real question should be, are you the partner you should be?

Do you work at expressing love to your partner? Do you work at sporting with your partner? Do you spend time building your marriage?

The word used here is sporting. Any sport requires lots of hard work. It requires practice. It requires time invested. It requires learning more all the time. It also makes me never be satisfied.

I challenge you today to take this verse and let it challenge you in your marriage.

Every man should know that his wife is well worth whatever work is necessary to build a great relationship. Every wife should know that her marriage is worth the work.

Please take time today to decide to work as hard as possible to build your marriage!
