Today’s reading Numbers 25-26

Numbers 26:64 But among these there was not a man of them whom Moses and Aaron the priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.

They wouldn’t believe God. They refused to go into the promised land. They believe the lie about how big the obstacles were instead of how big our God is.

God told them that none of them over the age of 20 would make it into the promised land, only Joshua and Caleb who had believed God.

There are interesting things to remember. God did not abandon His people even in their rebellion. He always provided for their needs. He protected them. He continued to love them.

However their rebellion had consequences and those consequences affected them as parents and their children. There children had to wander in the wilderness with them for 40 years waiting on them to die before they could inherit their promise.

I want you to know that He loves you today and will continue to do so! Even if you rebel and do not live up to who you are in Christ He will still love you. He will work in your life but you might miss out on His best for your life.

You are His. You are secure. But that does not mean that you should live following your heart. You should follow Him, His Word.

When we violate Scriptural principles we do not lose our salvation but we do lose out on many blessings that could have been ours. At least that is what happens in this passage of Scripture!
