Today’s reading Joshua 11-13

Joshua 11:18 Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.

Focus on the two words, “long time,” in this verse. I am afraid that much of what discourages us today is that we want things to work out today. We are convinced that God should take care of our problems quickly.

We often seem to think that He took care of things quickly in the Bible but the only reason that appears to be true is that we can read the stories quickly and do not pay attention to what the Bible says about how much time is passing.

Here in Joshua they fought for a long time. It is going to take a long time for you to mature in Christ. It is going to take a long time for you to see results that you want in your ministry.

Things that are of value usually do not spring up over night unless God does a miracle.

We are in a marathon not a sprint.

Know that you will live a long time and seek to honor the Lord and be faithful to Him for a long time!
