Today’s reading Deuteronomy 31:30-34

Deuteronomy 32:46-47 And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. 47 For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

God told His people to set their hearts on His Words, all of them. He told them to teach and command their children the things found in His Word. His Word is not empty, vain, or worthless. Instead of that His Word is our very life. His Word really affects the quality of life that the Jewish people were going to live.

Don’t you believe that the same is true today! God’s Word is our life. It is in His Word that we learn we are sinners. It is in His Word that we learn of our need for salvation and how to be saved. It is in His Word that I learn to love my wife, raise my children, carry on my life. His Word touches every part of me and every part of my life.

I challenge you to realize how much you need the Word of God. Make an appointment each day to spend time in the Word and to learn more and more about the things of God.

God’s Word will make a difference in your life as well as in the life of your children!
