I Samuel 15:13 And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD.
Did Saul convince himself that he was actually obeying God? Did he really believe that he had performed the commandment of the Lord? Is partial obedience obedience at all?
That brings us to the World Evangelism question. How many churches believe that they are performing the commandment of the Lord when we speak of the Great Commission?
How many believe that because they win souls or have a visitation program close to their church that they are performing the Great Commission? Is that real obedience?
Can we redefine the words of the Great Commission to mean doing our part or blooming in the corner where we are planted?
Can we do a reality check and see if we are really performing or just think that we are performing the commandment of the Lord? Do we need to sit down and make a plan about what is really performing the commandment or the Great Commission?
I do not believe that the church nor the men of God even give the Great Commandment a lot of thought. I believe that we have strayed so far from the commandment that we have virtually forgotten it.
