Today’s reading Genesis 42-44

Genesis 44:33 Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren.

The brothers had sold Joseph into slavery. They had acted in the heat of the moment. They were hurt and angry at their brother. They felt like they could get even.

They hurt their family horribly. The family was never the same. They have learned from their lesson. Here Judah speaks up and says that he will do whatever he has to do to not make the same mistake, commit the same sin again.

He is willing to suffer personally rather than make the same mistake.

We have all messed up on many occasions. Here is a verse to remind us to learn from our mistakes. To know that God forgives but also that He we learn and grow.

Have you made mistakes? Have you overstepped your bounds? Have you learned from your mistakes? Will you be willing to suffer instead of falling in the same place again?

The righteous man does fall but he gets back up. He might fall 7 times but he doesn’t stay down. You are God’s child. You have victory over sin. All of His promises are yea and amen.

Step forward in victory. Do not let past failures hinder you but rather help you on to do more for the king!
