1Corinthians 4:14-15 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
When dealing with his church Paul wanted them to know that he did not want to shame them or embarrass them. He wanted to speak to them not like any other teacher might but as their father in the faith.
What a sweet spirit for the man of God to have! He was not just another Bible teacher, he was their pastor. He was their father. He had helped them get started on this path.
As pastors our heart should be so sweet towards our people. As pastors we should be far kinder than just some other Bible teacher.
You have to win the right to criticize. You have to earn the right to correct!
