Today’s reading Exodus 11-13

Exodus 10:24 And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.

Finally Pharaoh is cracking. He has offered compromises before but it always has to do with the world maintaining some sort of control over God’s people and God’s possessions.

Pharaoh is willing for them to go and worship as long as they leave their possessions in Egypt. He knows that they will come back. He knows that money has a way of controlling people and people use money to control.

The old joke is about the Golden Rule meaning that he who has the gold rules! So Pharaoh says you can go just leave the gold here.

God wants you to surrender all to Him. He should be the Lord of your personal life, your spouse’s life, your children, your future, your flocks or material goods, and every other part of life that I can’t think of right now.

The world will allow you to worship God and even take your children as long as you do not do something foolish that shows that you give your money like a fanatic. The real secret to where our hearts are is to see where our money is!

We put our money where we have our heart. They go together. Moses said, no, we go, the money goes. We are not a a divided people. We are in this 100%.

Does your complete surrender to God show in how you manage your money?
