1Corinthians 6:7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

There was a problem in the early church. Christians were taking their problems out to the world. They were going before the law and judges. Paul wanted the church to learn to practice church discipline rather than go to lost people to let them decide what was right.

He preferred to see Christians deal with taking a loss as to take His people’s problems before the loss. Better to lose out than to let the world see our dirty clothes.

That is why we do not want to gossip and spread garbage about each other. That is why He gave specific instructions about how to deal with our differences and problems in the church.

Tomorrow’s reading I Corinthians 7
