1Corinthians 7:6 But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.

Paul gives 5 verses in this chapter and then makes a statement that has caused lots of confusion. Some people read this verse and think that what Paul wrote here was his opinion.

Actually what he is saying is that I do not have a previous Bible verse here that I can quote but rather God is giving me this.

This verse and all that he is writing is inspired. Every word is profitable. But Paul usually shows us new revelation based on some Old Testament verse. Here he gives us new revelation. There are no words in your Bible that you can not trust as coming from God. He speoke them through the men.

I Corinthians like all the other 65 books is the Word of God, every word of it. Paul simply alerts you to the fact that he is here giving something new that we have no commandment on.
